The Old Mill, as an ancient building, does not offer mechanical means such as a 'lift', or 'elevator' or a mechanised chair to go between the ground and the first floor. There are essentially two floors (with an additional Gallery which is not easily accessible due to the spiral staircase). The ground floor gives access from the front door into the Lobby and onto the open-plan dining-room / kitchen / living room / breakfast area with a rear door to the stream-side terrace and garden. The first floor can be accessed via  a staircase from the ground floor or from the driveway which rises up by one storey from the front door. There is one step up into the Drive bedroom which leads to a corridor past the Rossini bedroom into an office & bathroom. This leads you into the main Living room / Studio and beyond, into the Library bedroom, all on the same level.

Wheelchair maneuvering is comfortable on both floors with regulation width doors. However, in going from the ground floor to the first floor and vice-versa the only wheelchair access route is via the driveway and assistance is recommended because, though the slope is not steep, it is on a combination of bedrock and pebbles, posing a challenge.
